Back to School: Timetable Builders & Age Calculators for Students & Teachers
Back to school brings a small pile of admin: a timetable that actually needs building, a birthday or two to work out the exact age for, and a clock worth glancing at on a classroom or bedroom desk. A good school timetable maker app handles the first job properly, and I've paired it with two smaller apps for the rest.
Each one is aimed at a different part of the same season — organising the week ahead, tracking birthdays, and having a clock that's actually pleasant to look at.
A School Timetable Maker App for Students and Teachers
A weekly timetable is one of those things everyone builds slightly differently, so a rigid template rarely fits how a particular student or teacher actually organises their week.
Days Timetable is a free, landscape-first iPhone and iPad app that lets students and teachers build colourful weekly timetables, customise every subject, and export the result as a proper PDF worth printing or sharing. It's built to be flexible enough for a single student's week or a teacher's full class schedule.

Working Out Ages and Keeping an Eye on the Time
Alongside the timetable, two smaller but recurring jobs come up through the school year: working out someone's exact age, and having a clock on hand that's actually easy to read.
How Old Am I calculates your exact age or the age between any two dates, and tracks the birthdays of friends and family with a 9am notification so none get missed during a busy term. It's a small utility, but a genuinely useful one once a class or family list grows past a handful of names.

2 Clocks turns a spare phone or tablet into a fullscreen analogue or digital clock with a sweeping seconds hand and fifteen faces to pick from, making it a decent option for a classroom shelf or a student's desk. Two-timezone widgets are a nice extra for anyone tracking a school trip or an exchange student's home time.

Between the timetable, the birthdays, and the clock on the wall, that covers most of the back-to-school admin without needing one bloated all-in-one planner that does everything averagely. I build all three myself, each aimed at a different small job that shows up every school year.
