GCSE Maths A+ splits the course into 28 topics and gives every one of them the same three things: revision notes written for the night before a test, exam tips drawn from mark schemes and examiner reports, and a 25-question quiz that marks itself and explains every answer. That is 163 note sections, 232 exam tips and 700 questions in a single app.
Questions come in the two shapes the real papers use: multiple choice, and type-in answers with a built-in maths keypad that has π, brackets and a fraction slash on it. Diagrams – number lines, right-angled triangles, coordinate grids, pie charts, tree diagrams – are drawn live by the app rather than photographed, so they stay sharp and stay readable at every text size.

Accuracy and updates. Every effort has been made to keep the content accurate and in line with the specifications as published at the time of writing. Specifications, formula sheets and tier boundaries are revised from time to time – always confirm against the current specification for your awarding body and the year you are sitting, and against your approved textbook.
Private by Design
A revision app should not need to know who you are. GCSE Maths A+ has no accounts, no logins and no profile – your stars, XP, streak and quiz history live on your device and nowhere else. The only name it knows is the one you type into Settings so the home screen can say hello.

What do I get without paying?
Eight topics in full: all five Number topics, plus Expressions & Simplifying, Expanding & Factorising and Linear Equations. That is their notes, their exam tips and 200 exam-style questions with explanations, along with the whole progress system. The free version shows an occasional full-screen advert.
Is the unlock a subscription?
No. It is a single £4.99 in-app purchase that never renews. It opens the other twenty topics and removes all advertising for good.
Which exam board is it for?
The content is written to cover the shared GCSE Mathematics subject content, and it is aligned to AQA 8300 and Pearson Edexcel 1MA1. Because all specifications must cover the same Department for Education content, it also works for OCR and WJEC Eduqas students – check your own specification for anything board-specific.
Foundation or Higher tier?
Both. The topics cover the Foundation core, and each set of notes ends with a Grade 5+ stretch section for the Higher material, with the harder questions in every quiz marked at the top difficulty.
How do the quizzes work?
Twenty-five questions per topic. Each shows its command word – Work out, Calculate, Show that – and how many marks it is worth. Some are multiple choice; more than 300 across the app want an answer typed on the built-in maths keypad. A hint is a tap away, and the explanation appears as soon as you answer.
What is exam mode?
A switch on the Practice tab that gives you one minute per mark and turns hints off, so a quiz feels like the paper rather than like practice. You can also make it the default in Settings.
What is a smart quiz?
One button that either picks up the topic you were last working on or chooses the one your scores suggest needs the most attention, so you do not have to decide what to revise.
How does the app show diagrams?
It draws them. Number lines, right-angled triangles, coordinate grids, bar and pie charts, spinners, sequence patterns and probability trees are all rendered live, which keeps them sharp on every screen, lets them grow with your text size, and gives each one a spoken description for VoiceOver.
Does it work offline?
Yes. All 28 topics, every note, tip and question ship inside the app. Only the adverts and the App Store purchase check need a connection.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no profile. Your stars, XP, streak and quiz history are stored on your device.
I bought it on my iPhone. Do I have to pay again on my iPad?
No. Install the app on the other device, sign in with the same Apple Account, and tap Restore purchases under More.

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how GCSE Maths A+ ("the App," "we," "our," or "us") handles information. The App is a revision aid containing notes, exam tips and practice questions for GCSE Mathematics.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information. The App has no accounts, no sign-up and no login, and we operate no servers of our own.
- Your stars, XP, day streak, quiz history and the name you optionally type into Settings are stored locally on your device only.
- All notes, tips and questions ship inside the App; nothing you read or answer is transmitted anywhere.
- The App does not access your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, calendars or health data.
- We do not operate our own analytics servers and we do not build profiles of users.
- Limited data is processed by our advertising provider and by Apple for purchases, as described in sections 3 and 4.
3. Advertising
The free version of GCSE Maths A+ displays advertisements through Google AdMob: an occasional full-screen advert shown when you move between major screens, rate limited so it cannot appear more than once a minute. To serve and measure adverts, Google may collect and process certain information such as a device advertising identifier, coarse device and network information, and app interaction data, and may use it for personalised advertising where you have permitted that.
Nothing about your revision – your scores, the topics you read, the questions you missed – is shared with the advertising provider.
You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The App uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework to ask your permission before any tracking across other companies' apps and websites takes place. If you decline, you will still see adverts, but they will be non-personalised. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Where required by local law, a consent form is also presented before personalised advertising is requested.
Buying the unlock removes all advertising from the App, and with it the ad-related data processing described in this section.
4. Purchases and Payment History
GCSE Maths A+ is free to download and offers a single optional in-app purchase, Unlock everything (£4.99, one-time and non-renewing), which opens all 28 topics and removes adverts.
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit). We never see, receive or store your card details, billing address or any other payment credential.
To know whether to unlock the paid topics, the App reads your purchase history for this app from the App Store on your device – which product was bought and whether the purchase is still valid or was refunded. This information:
- is used solely for app functionality – to unlock topics, to restore a purchase you already made, and to remove adverts for buyers;
- is provided and verified by Apple, is tied to your Apple Account rather than to any account with us, and is evaluated on your device;
- is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling or tracking, and is not sold or shared with third parties;
- is not stored on any server we control, because we operate none.
In App Store privacy terms, this is the "Purchases" data category, collected for App Functionality only. Your Apple Account and its payment records remain governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond what is described in section 3. The only third parties involved in the App are Google (advertising, free version only) and Apple (App Store distribution and purchase processing).
6. Children's Privacy
The App is aimed at secondary-school students and older. We are committed to complying with the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising is handled in line with the App's App Store age rating and the consent mechanisms described above.
7. Your Choices
- Advertising: change your tracking choice in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or remove adverts entirely by buying the unlock.
- Your name: the name shown on the home screen is optional and is only ever stored on your device. Clear the field to remove it.
- Your data: More → Reset all progress clears your stars, XP, streak and quiz history; deleting the App removes everything stored locally.
