About Runny Rex
Runny Rex is a free, one-more-go endless hopper. You play a small voxel T-Rex with a big problem: the world is ending behind him. The ground ahead is a diagonal checkerboard of floating blocks — grass, sand, water, mud, fire, the occasional crate of TNT — and the only way is forward.
The controls could not be simpler: tap the left half of the screen to hop up-left, tap the right half to hop up-right. That's it. The depth comes from the ground itself — some tiles are solid, some sink a second after you land, some are instantly fatal, and one purple block hands out power-ups. Meanwhile asteroids streak down from the sky and set the world on fire around you.
🦖 One thumb, no timers, no lives. Every run is free, every run counts your steps, and your best score is submitted to the Game Center leaderboard automatically. The only currency is coins — earned in-game by playing, topped up by an optional rewarded ad, or bought in packs if you want a boost.
Runny Rex is free to download and play, supported by Google AdMob ads. Buying any coin pack permanently removes banner ads — and rewarded ads only ever play when you choose to watch one.
How to Play
From first hop to leaderboard run:
Tap to Hop
Tap the left side of the screen to hop diagonally up-left, the right side to hop up-right. Rex always moves forward — your job is to pick which diagonal is survivable. (Prefer it the other way round? Flip it with Invert Controls in Settings.)
Read the Ground
Every block tells you what it will do. Grass, sand and soil are solid. Mud, charred ground and deep water start to wobble the moment you land — you have about a second to move on before they sink. Fire, skulls and TNT end the run on the spot. The full field guide is below.
Watch the Sky
Asteroids crash down as you run, igniting the tiles they hit. A safe path can stop being safe two hops ahead of you — keep one eye up.
Grab Coins & Mystery Blocks
Coins hover over safe tiles, rain from the sky in bursts, and pour out of purple ? blocks — which can also grant a shield, a coin magnet, or slow-motion when you need it most.
Revive or Go Again
When a run ends you can spend coins to revive on the spot — up to three times per run, with the cost growing the deeper you are. The revive clears nearby hazards and grants a free shield, so you're never dropped straight back into the fire.
Climb the Leaderboard
Steps are your score. Your best run is submitted to the Game Center leaderboard automatically — see how far the rest of the world got before the world got them.
Know Your Tiles
Every block in Runny Rex is drawn from the actual game art — and every one behaves exactly one of four ways. Learn these and you'll survive ten times longer:
Safe Ground
The classic. Solid, dependable, and often carries a hovering coin.
Solid ground with a little forest on top. Land away, Rex doesn't mind the branches.
Soft landing, occasionally hiding a coin in the leaves.
Plain dirt. Nothing fancy, nothing fatal — a perfectly good place to stand.
Desert ground. Solid despite the look — don't confuse it with sinking mud.
Prickly to look at, safe to land on. Rex has thick skin.
Bright, sparkling and only ankle-deep. Splash down safely — but check the shade: dark water is a different story.
Sinking Ground — one second to move
These tiles start to wobble the moment you land. You have roughly one second to hop off before they drop out from under you.
Wet, dark and hungry. It holds your weight just long enough to regret it.
Burnt-out, ember-flecked ground — what's left after a fire or a TNT blast. Crumbles about a second after you land.
Dark blue means deep. Rex can't swim — the tile gives way and takes you with it if you linger.
Deadly — do not land here
Instant game over — unless a shield saves you. Asteroids create more of these as the run goes on.
Cursed stone. Land on it and the whole tile plummets into the void with you aboard.
Detonates the instant you touch it — screen shake, fireball, the lot — and leaves charred ground behind.
Special Blocks
Safe to land on — and it pops into a random reward: a shield, a coin magnet, slow-motion, or a burst of +6 coins.
A gently pulsing marker block. Reach one for a milestone bonus on your run.
Hovers over safe tiles and rains from the sky in periodic bursts. Coins bank the moment your run ends — spend them on revives.
Not a tile — a problem. Falls from the sky and sets whatever it hits on fire. The end of the world isn't polite about it.
Power-Ups
Every purple mystery block pops into one of four rewards, drawn from the game's own sprite sheet:
Shield
One free mistake. Absorbs a landing that would otherwise end the run.
Magnet
For your next 6 hops, nearby coins fly to you automatically.
Slow-Mo
The whole world drops to half speed for a few seconds. Breathe. Plan. Hop.
Coin Burst
+6 coins on the spot, straight into your run total.
Coins, Revives & the Coin Store
Coins are the only currency in Runny Rex, and everything about them is optional. You earn them by playing: they hover over tiles, rain from the sky, and burst out of mystery blocks. They persist between runs, and they have exactly one job — revives.
Revives
When a run ends, you can revive up to three times per run. A revive costs coins — starting at 200 and growing with how far you've run — and it doesn't just plop you back down: it clears the hazards around you and grants a free shield so the run restarts fairly. Short on coins? The revive button takes you straight to the coin store.
Free Coins
The coin store includes a Free Coins card: watch a rewarded ad, get +30 coins. You can do this twice in a row before a short 10-minute cooldown. Rewarded ads only ever play when you tap that card — the game never plays a video ad on its own.
Coin Packs
If you'd rather skip the grind, three one-time coin packs are available. Every pack — even the smallest — also permanently removes banner ads.
- ✓ Coins are added instantly — and any pack permanently switches off banner ads on top
- ✓ Ad-free status restores automatically on any device signed in to the same Apple Account
- ✓ The Free Coins rewarded ad stays available after purchase — it's opt-in, and 30 free coins are 30 free coins
- ✓ No subscription, no energy system, no paywall — every run is free, forever
The honest small print: coins are a consumable in-app purchase. They have no monetary value, are non-refundable, and can't be transferred between accounts or devices. Prices are shown in USD; your App Store price may vary by region.
About the Ads
Runny Rex is free because it shows ads, and we'd rather explain exactly how than hide it:
- Banner ads — a small Google AdMob banner outside of the action. Buying any coin pack removes these permanently.
- Rewarded ads — the Free Coins video in the coin store. These play only when you choose to watch one, and always pay out +30 coins. They remain available even after you've bought a pack, because free coins shouldn't stop being free.
- No forced video ads. The game never interrupts a run, a game-over screen, or anything else with a full-screen ad you didn't ask for.

Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Runny Rex ("the App," "we," "our," or "us") handles information. The App is an arcade game for iPhone and iPad.
The short version: the App has no accounts, collects nothing itself, and keeps your progress on your device. The only third parties involved are Google AdMob (for ads) and Apple (for Game Center and in-app purchases).
2. Game Data
Your coins, best score, settings and ad-free status are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit them to our servers — we don't have servers. Deleting the App removes this local data (your ad-free status can be restored via the App Store; see section 6).
3. Advertising
The free version of Runny Rex displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob may collect and process certain information, such as a device advertising identifier, general device and usage data, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This data is used to deliver and measure advertising. You can review Google's practices here: Google Ads & Privacy.
Purchasing any coin pack permanently removes banner ads. The optional Free Coins rewarded ad plays only when you choose to watch it.
4. App Tracking Transparency
Where required, the App asks for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any identifier is used to deliver personalized ads. If you decline, ads remain non-personalized. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
5. Game Center
If you are signed in to Game Center, the App submits your best step count to the Best Steps leaderboard through Apple's Game Center service. Your Game Center profile and leaderboard data are managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your Game Center identity.
6. In-App Purchases
Coin packs are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. The ad-removal benefit included with any coin pack is restored automatically on devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
7. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising is provided by Google AdMob subject to its own policies, and in-app purchases are protected by the App Store's standard parental controls (Ask to Buy / Screen Time restrictions).
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
