1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how our UPSC study apps — GS Prelims, CSAT Prelims and Mains: Ethics ("the Apps," "we," "our," or "us") — handle information. The Apps are independent study aids for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, for iPhone and iPad. The same policy applies to all three.

2. No Account, No Sign-up

We do not collect any personally identifiable information. The Apps require no login or sign-up, never ask for your name or email, and run no servers of our own — so there is nothing for us to transmit personal data to.

  • No sign-in, account, or registration of any kind.
  • No access to location, contacts, microphone, camera, or photos.
  • No first-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Your study progress — chapters read, quiz scores, flashcard status, reading speed, test history and your unlock entitlement — is stored locally on your device only.

3. Advertising & Tracking (Free Version)

The free version of each app shows advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a limited set of identifiers (such as the iOS Identifier for Advertisers, IDFA) and basic device and ad-interaction data in order to show ads and measure their performance. This advertising is the only purpose for which any tracking occurs — we do not track you for any other reason.

Before any tracking-based ads are shown, we present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, AdMob serves only non-personalised ads and the IDFA is not shared. Unlocking the full version removes ads entirely, which ends this data flow.

4. In-App Purchase

Each app offers a single one-time full unlock in-app purchase, processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Your entitlement is verified through Apple's receipt, kept on your device, and restored on demand via Restore purchases in Settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share user data. The only third-party data flow is Google AdMob in the free version, as described above. Unlocking any app removes its ads and that data flow entirely.

6. Children's Privacy

The Apps are study aids intended for adult aspirants preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

Their notes, flashcards, mnemonics, questions, thinker profiles and case studies are written to follow the UPSC Civil Services Examination syllabus, but the Apps are not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Practice questions are modelled on past papers; the exact same questions may not appear in the actual exam. Always cross-check against official sources before relying on any content.
